Although the best of three series had many issues with what seemed to be DDoS attacks, long pauses, and player replacements*, the series finally concluded well into the night with Basically Unknown emerging as the victors.
Main Qualifiers
4C&L defeated EE’s Disciples, 2:0, in their first round, and then Team Tinker in the second round, 2:1.
Basically Unknown swept through the Main Qualifier undefeated over Suxy and then Gamers Online.
There is still one more Main Qualifier left, possibly giving 4C&L another chance to be able to participate in the league.
The last Main Qualifier will take place from April 28 to May 1 and will include the four winners from the last of the Open Qualifiers: Yellow Submarine, Aspera, Chappa and Vega Squadron.
Basically Unknown joins Burden United and Virtus.Pro as qualified teams to play in the League. The four invited teams are Na’Vi, Team Empire, Ninjas in Pyjamas and The Alliance.
The “League” will be played in a Round Robin Bo2 format, between May 4-21. After the May 23-24 super-weekend, six teams will qualify for the LAN playoffs held between June 13-15, in Sweden. The six teams will split $30,000 support budget for travel and LAN expenses.
