HellRaisers have announced that Roman “rmn” Paley from Goomba Gaming will temporarily replace Artyom “Artes” Gorobey for the Red Bull Battle Grounds 2015 event in Santa Monica, May 5-7.
After Artes was denied his visa twice, the team was forced to seek a replacement. As rmn is German, he is not required to obtain a visa to travel to the US and is able to do so on short notice. It appears that rmn also speaks Russian, which was a huge factor in his selection for the team.
Only two weeks after their surprising qualification to represent the CIS region at the Red Bull Battle Grounds LAN playoffs in Santa Monica, the team was effected by the dreadful visa issues plaguing teams as of late. With only one week to find a replacement, the team turned to a German player who speaks Russian, rmn, who fit their needs.
According to HellRaisers statement, the fact that rmN speaks Russian was a decisive factor:
The winner was Roman “rmN” Paley, the player of the German team Goomba. The determining factor here was that Roman knows Russian. And since for us proper communication within the team is the most important thing, the choice was pretty obvious.
HellRaisers will be competing alongside Team Malaysia, Invictus Gaming, Summoner’s Rift and Team Secret in the offline playoffs in Santa Monica, California, between May 5-7. The finals will be held in San Francisco, on May 10, with a base prize pool of $75,000.
