Alliance got Mineski eliminated, 1:0, in the first round of the Manila Major Lower Brackets. After placing last in their group during the tournament’s groupstage, Mineski are the second team to be knocked out of contention in the main event. The Filipino team will walk away with $30,000. Alliance will face Na’Vi in the second round of the Lower Brackets, tomorrow, at 14:00 CEST.
Alliance and Mineski both struggled in the Group Stage. The Swedish team had taken one series when they wiped out ViCi Gaming.Reborn and took one win off of each Fnatic and Team Liquid in each of their series.
Mineski, was unable to secure a series win, taking only one game from Evil Geniuses and MVP.Phoenix. Their results had put them in the last place position and saw the Philippines representative drop to the lower brackets for the playoffs.
Not wanting to disappoint the local fans and their country, Mineski played their heart out in the brutal elimination series. Mineski’s lineup was focused on pushing with two protective supports, while Alliance took anti-push heroes to pull the waves back and have some split push power.
The local heroes started out the brutal elimination match with a slight advantage and continued to further their lead with a few favorable fights until about 25 minutes in. Mineski had set the tempo but Alliance had turned the game around and took the lead out from under the Filipino team.
A thrilling back and forth game of pushing, counter-pushing and defending high grounds was brought to an end after 53 minutes, with a spectacular base race showdown. Alliance got Mineski eliminated to survive another day.
