The StarLadder 12 LAN finals did not go as expected for Team Secret. The team underperformed and was knocked out of the tournament, after losing to Team Malaysia, 1-2, and Alliance, 0-2. Secret’s manager, Cyborgmatt, complains about the tournament’s poor standards.
In what appears to be a response to a fan who was wondering why the Team Secret players haven’t been active on their social media accounts lately, Matthew “Cyborgmatt” Bailey – manager of Team Secret, has complained about the StarLadder StarSeries XII “poor standards”:
This will probably be our last StarLadder for a while, terrible standards for a 2015 tournament.
Cyborgmatt’s grievances have reached Reddit, where StarLadder’s Vitalli “V1lat” Volochai, responded:
Matt is right about a lot of things, and I hope he’ll write a blog, I am sure SLTV staff would appreciate critics from Matt. It is first ever LAN organized by SL not in Kiev, so a lot of problems.
However, Team Tinker‘s manager, Phillip Aram, shares am entirely different perspective on the StarLadder 12 LAN finals:
Every experience is valid, cerainly @Cyborgmatt s, just wanted to say it wasn't TT's experience and that we have been very satisfied with SL

StarLadder StarSeries XII
For the first time in the StarLadder StarSeries history, the LAN event has left the Cybersport Arena in Kiev, to be hosted at DreamHack Bucharest, April 24-26. The venue for the playoffs was changed amidst multiple frustrations and issues in the past, regarding visas for traveling teams.
The tournament’s total prize-pool has been increased to a minimum of $150,000. Casting is provided by SLTV, in Russian, and Beyond the Summit, in English.
