HTC Vive gives new dimension to esports spectating

The HTC Vive gives a new dimension to Esports spectating through a video released by Valve. The replay of a final match between Evil Geniuses and MVP.Phoenix from the Shanghai Major is given new life in the Virtual Reality device, showing various ways to enhance the viewer experience.

HTC Vive and Steam have released a new video to show how VR devices and use can enhance spectating esports. In watching a replay of a final match between Evil Geniuses and MVP.Phoenix from the Shanghai Major, the clip demonstrates a variety of features and unique angles.

Along with an in-depth and person centered view of the heroes and maps, users can access a menu console to examine graphs and items.

The VR device pre-order sells in the US for $799 and elsewhere for 899€.

Back in February at the Vision Summit 2016, Gabe Newell gave everyone in attendance a free HTC Vive. The conference, held February 10-11th in California, was geared towards engine manufacturers and developers to showcase the new technology of Virtual Reality.

HTC Vive and Valve have partnered up to develop the Vive’s headset. Vive is also powered by SteamVR so VR fans can look forward to the games and services that will be soon available on Steam.

As part of their introduction to VR, Valve had added the infamous Secret Shop to the playlist experience. This gives fans the unique opportunity to gain the perspective of the secret shop from within.

HTC Vive had brought it’s Virtual Reality Tour for fans to experience outside the venue of TI5, while players and personalities were privy to a private room to test the equipment.
