Brasil Game Cup (BGC) will launch it’s third edition with Dota 2 being the first game announced for the event and boasts 60,000 Brazilian real (approximately $16,740) prize pool. Two online qualifiers will take place – the first one to occur from April 2 to May 21. Brasil Game show -the largest Latin American game show – will take place September September 1st -5th, at São Paulo Expo.
The Brasil Game Cup (BGC) is the largest game show of Latin America and will be hosting it’s third iteration September 1st to 5th, at São Paulo Expo.
Dota 2 is the first confirmed game to be featured at the event and boasts a 60,000 Brazilian real (approximately $16,740) prize pool and winner will receive their name engraged on the Ralph Baer Trophy, as a “tribute to the creator of the first videogame in history”.
Brasil Game Cup qualifiers
- Two online qualifiers
- First qualifier takes place April 2 -May 21
- Second qualifier takes place June 11-30th
- 128 qualifier spots available in each for Brazilian teams
- Two teams, one from each, will advance to the Grand finals
- Each winning team will also receive 5,000 BRL (approximately $1400)
- Each Second place team will receive 3,000 BRL (approximately $830)
- Each Third place team will receive 2,000 BRL (approximately $550)
- First qualifier held April 2-May 21st

Brasil Game Cup Grand Finals
The Grand Final stage will have a superstructure with big high definition screens, great audience area and professional broadcasting team.
- Grand finals to be held on September 5 during the Brasil Game Show
- First place prize 30,000 BRL (approximately $8370) + Ralph Baer Trophy
- Second place prize 10,000 BRL (appoximately $2790)

Brasil Game Show and Cup
Brasil Game Show was held for the first time in 2009 in the capital of Rio de Janeiro as Rio Game Show. This year it will be held September 1st – 5th, at São Paulo Expo -the largest and most modern exhibition center in Brazil.
BGC is a national electronic sports competition that “aims to further strengthen the game scenario in the country”. With qualifying rounds throughout the year, the competition will have its finals held at Brasil Game Show (BGS), the largest event of the sector in Latin America.
