Elements Pro Gaming have disbanded after sub-par performances during the Shanghai Major European Qualifiers. The qualifiers that took place between January 7-10 yielded last place standings for Elements Pro Gaming, in their group. Khaled “sQreen” El Habbash, Ilya “Illidan” Pivcaev, Maxim “yoky” Kim, Victor “GeneRaL” Nigrini, and Rinat “KingR” Abdullin will go their separate ways. No additional future plans have been revealed.
Khaled “sQreen” El Habbash has announced on his VK page that Elements Pro Gaming is disbanding.
There has been no additional information as to where the team members will go or whether the newly formed organization led by Russian Grand Chess Master and Dota 2 aficionado Ian “FrostNova” Nepomniachtchi will find a replacement squad.
The news comes following some disappointing results for Elements Pro Gaming in the Shanghai Major European Qualifiers this last week.
sQreen’s latest squad struggled in the event, taking only one win and suffering seven losses. Their only win was when they tied a series 1:1 with London Conspiracy, on the first day.
The team had been directly invited to participate in the Regional Qualifiers to compete for a slot in the Shanghai Major and a slice of the $3,000,000 prize-pool.
Elements Pro Gaming
This CIS squad made an appearance in the Dota Pit S4 EU Qualifiers, besting Kaipi in the first round, 2:1. The team featured Maxim “yoky” Kim, Ilya “Illidan” Pivcaev, and was captained by Khaled “sQreen” El-Khabbash.
On December 3rd, it was announced that the team was picked up by a new esports organization – Elements Pro Gaming, spearheaded by Russian Grand Chess Master and Dota 2 aficionado Ian “FrostNova” Nepomniachtchi.
