Shanghai Major Europe Qualifiers results are in as day 1 has come to an end. Team Spirit and Team Liquid are leading their groups, followed by Team Empire and Vega. HellRaisers and RoX both have yet to win a match and sit at the bottom of their groups. The second day of the Round Robin group stage will pick up again on January 8th, at 10:00 CET.
The Shanghai Major Europe Qualifiers results are in after long and eventful day has concluded for day 1 group stage.
Team Spirit at sitting, not only at the top of their group, but with the highest number of wins and points for both groups. After three series, the CIS team dropped only one match, giving them 5 points.
Not surprising is that Team Liquid is leading their group, one win ahead of Vega.
Both HellRaisers and the new T.RoX team are struggling in the round robins, after losing all of their matches for the day.
The matches resume on January 8th, at 10:00 CET, and are expected to be intense as the teams continue their quest towards the second stage of the qualifiers – the double elimination brackets.

Shanghai Major Europe Qualifiers results day 1 Group A
Team Empire with Silent and Goblak
Team Spirit has had a strong start to the event, leading the way with a whopping 5 points, more than any of the other teams in the Shanghai Major EU qualifiers. They were able to take the series 2:0 between them and HellRaisers and Empire. Team Spirit started out the say with a strong performance and quick win over Na’Vi, getting megacreeps and ending the game in only 18 minues.
Na’Vi was able to make a comeback after a 20K gold deficit against Team Spirit. Danil “Dendi” Ishutin was critical in the win of that game, making a big play on his Magnus. Na’Vi were later able to sweep through Mamasboys 2:0 and give themselves 3 points, putting them tied with Team Empire for second place.
Team Empire is tied with Na’Vi in the second spot with three wins out of their four matches. The CIS team was able to take the full series 2:0 against HellRaisers and split the series between them and Mamasboys 1:1.
Mamasboys struggled to retain a place high enough to advance into the playoffs as they lost against Team Spirit 0:2 and split their series against Empire. The team had just been formed prior to the Open Qualifiers and were the first of the European teams to qualify for the regional event.

Team Liquid had some rough games, playing several matches that approached one hour and had to turn a few games around in order to win. They managed to come out ahead, leading their group with three wins overall. They split the series with London Conspiracy 1:1 and swept through T.RoX 2:0.
Vega had played only one series yesterday and swept through their CIS counterparts 2:0. The team has shown some of their expected aggression and cohesion, giving hope and promise for a good run in day 2.
London Conspiracy has tied for second with Vega after the first day. They were able to take one match from Elements and Team Liquid. The team are fighting their way up after a long week of open qualifier games.
T.RoX are unfortunately sitting at the bottom of the groups with not a single win. The team was picked up by the organization on the eve of the Regional Qualifiers.
Shanghai Major EU Qualifiers format
- The ten teams have been divided into two Round Robin groups of five.
- Top two teams will advance to a double elimination bracket.
- First place team will start in the Upper Brackets.
- Runner-up team will start in the Lower Brackets.
- The first and second place teams from the Shanghai Major EU Qualifiers will advance to the main event in Shanghai, China.

The Shanghai Major EU Qualifiers will be broadcast in English as part of the coverage provided by Beyond the Summit in their “insanity hub”.

The Shanghai Major EU Qualifiers series will begin at 10:00 CET, on Thursday, January 7th, and end on January 10th.
