The WCA 2015 LAN finals teams and groups have been set. The 16 teams – Team Secret, Wings Gaming, Fnatic, Empire, LGD, Newbee, YouPorn, Leviathan, CDEC, TnC, IG, Exceration, MVP.Phoenix, Team Liquid, Alliance and CLoud 9 -have been divided into four groups and will be competing December 17-20th at the Ningxia International Hall in Yinchuan, China. The event features teams of high caliber and notoriety such as Team Secret, CDEC, Virtus.Pro will be competing alongside lesser known teams such as YouPorn, Exceration, for the $650,000 prize pool.
WCA has released the teams and groups for the upcoming WCA 2015 LAN finals. The event will feature 16 teams competing between December 17-20th in Yinchaun, China.
Over the course of the last few months, since the event began with the qualifiers in April, there have been several adjustments and changes to the team lineup. Included now is recently disbanded, North American team Cloud 9. It is unknown determined if they will be replaced or participate with various members.
Team YouPorn will be making their LAN debut as one of the listed teams.

- 3 teams from the Chinese Pro Qualifiers (LGD Gaming, CDEC, Invictus Gaming)
- 6 teams from the Global Pro Qualifiers (Summer’s Rift, NoT Today, Team Secret, Virtus.Pro, MVP.Phoenix, TnC Gaming)
- 1 team from the Chinese Open Qualifiers (Wings Gaming)
- 4 teams from the Global Open Qualifiers (Team Leviathan, Alliance, Execration, TBD)
- 2 teams from the Wild Card
The WCA 2015 Pro Qualifiers began in April, when LGD Gaming, CDEC and Invictus Gaming secured their places in the main event following the Chinese Pro Qualifiers. In May, Summer’s Rift and NoT Today qualified to participate in the event from the Americas Pro Qualifiers. Team Secret and Virtus.Pro were the two European Pro teams to qualify, in September. MVP.Phoenix and TnC Gaming have taken the two SEA Pro regional spots earlier in October. Alliance have qualified for the WCA 2015 LAN, after defeating Team Empire, 2:1 earlier in November.
*There are a few discrepancies from the qualifier results and the teams listed in the schedule. Summer’s Rift disbanded after The International 5 and will not be attending. Based on the schedule, NoT is not participating either. Fnatic, YouPorn, Cloud 9, Newbee now appear on the official schedule.
WCA 2014
Last year, in October, Newbee seized the WCA 2014 championship title. Cloud 9 and Alliance came in second and third, respectively. The total prize pool was approximately $472,000.
The World Cyber Arena (WCA)
The World Cyber Arena (WCA) is one of the premier organizers of global eSports tournaments. This year, they have put together a comprehensive series featuring four separate titles with invite-only Pro Qualifiers and Open Qualifiers. Players compete for cash prizes and a trip to Yinchuan, China, to take part in the WCA 2015 LAN Finals for their share of the $1,900,000 prize pool across all titles – WarCraft III, CrossFire, Dota 2, Hearthstone, and Heroes of The Storm.
