Newbee.Young will be replacing Invictus Gaming at The Frankfurt Major set to take place starting November 13th. Due to visa issues and the lack of a listed substitute player, the Chinese team was forced to concede their spot. Newbee.Young took third place in the Chinese Qualifiers, placing them next in line and giving them the opportunity to compete. The Frankfurt Major will start out with a closed group stage scheduled between November 13-14 and progress to the open main event set to take place at the Festhalle Messe in Frankfurt, Germany from November 16-21st. The 16 teams are competing for the $3,000,000 prize pool.
ESL announced Newbee will be replacing Invictus Gaming at the Frankfurt Major.
Several days ago Invictus Gaming had reported that they were forced to withdraw from The Frankfurt Majordue to complications in obtaining required travel documents for Su “super” Peng. The team did not have a substitute registered, therefore falling out of compliance with the roster lock rules implemented by Valve.
As Invictus Gaming, qualified for the Frankfurt Major through the Chinese Qualifier, the organization has extended the invitation to replace them to the team that was next in line – Newbee Young. The team had come in third place, following Invictus Gaming and Newbee.
